It had to be a “metal filter”, since metal filters enable to extract more coffee oil, and as a result, there are going to be more complex coffee flavors.

First of all, what was the most important factor for you when developing a new coffee filter?
It had to be a “metal filter”, since metal filters enable to extract more coffee oil, and as a result, there are going to be more complex coffee flavors. This also means that the specialty coffees’ unique clean acidity can be tasted in a cup.

I would describe coffees extracted by “Cores Gold Filters” as “Soft and silky with light mouth feel, like a feather duvet.

How would you describe the characteristics of coffee extracted by “Cores Gold Filter”?
Stainless filters and gold filters are both metal filters but they create different coffee flavor profiles. I would describe coffees extracted by “Cores Gold Filters” as “Soft and silky with light mouth feel, like a feather duvet. The structure of the coffee is good as well”. They are ideal filters for me as they help to extract coffees with flavors that gradually develop on your palate”.
“Gold Filter C240” and “C280”were released first. They are 1-5 cup size for 3,000 yen and 1-10 cup size for 3,500 yen respectively. What is your opinion about the prices and sizes?
I understand that some might think they are a bit expensive, but it is because the material is gold, so considering this, I think the price is appropriate for what they are. As for the sizes, I am confident that these two sizes would be enough.
Consumers who usually use paper filters may find it difficult to brew coffee with the gold filter, but is it really more difficult to use “Cores Gold Filter” than paper filters?
If you are used to paper filters, you may find it a bit difficult to control the amount of hot water to pour first, since the hot water runs through the filter a lot faster.

I recommend medium to dark roast coffees with medium to medium coarse grind.

Please tell us other negative aspects of the gold filter, if there are any.
Since it is a metal filter, it is inevitable that some small fines will go through it.
Do you have a particular roasting style or grind size that you specifically choose for brewing with “Cores Gold Filter”?
I recommend medium to dark roast coffees with medium to medium coarse grind. However, it all depends on each person’s preference, so I also encourage people to try different roasts and grind sizes.
